Sending orphek program

My radion xr15 crapped out so while I make a claim on that light I decided to break out the orphek atlantik v4 I won from brs. I set everything up and picked the acclimation program while I researched what I wanted to use. Well I found one to copy and now I cant get it to send. It says command sent but no changes to the light. I've reset the light. Reset the gateway. Followed all the tips I can find on their website but still cant get the light to change. When I reset the light it goes to all channels on and when I reconnect the gateway it goes back to the acclimatin. Another thing I have noticed is that when checking the status of the light it won't display temp. Idk what to try next. Has anyone else had problems like this?

FYI - when you re-enter the app, it doesn't show the program the light is currently running. Instead, it defaults back to the 'slow acclimation' program. Rest assured, the light is running the last program you sent to it.

As for no changes to the light when you press 'send', is the program your trying to switch it to significantly different visually? Or is is possible at the given time of day in the two settings you were switching between that the difference in brightness/color wasn't significant enough to be noticeable?

Regarding the temperature reading under 'status', 1 of my 2 v4 Compacts doesn't show a reading either ... well, it shows 0.0 deg. (e.g. no reading). Not sure if it's a loose connection with the temp probe in the light or what, but I never noticed it before and am not going to worry about it now.

The lights are great. But the app is basic and not fully built-out/developed. All the key functions are there and work. It's just not as complete and polished as apps from larger outfits like Ecotech or AI.

I guess that could be. The slow acclimation program is set to go lights out in 20 minutes and the program I am trying to send it stays on later so I guess I will find out soon enough.

Huh... I just check the temperature status readings on mine again. Now the one that was showing 0.0 deg. is showing a 31 C reading. It may just take a few minutes for the lights to fully connect with the app after the app is opened.

Well it didn't work so I tried one last thing. I reset the light, gateway, and router multiple times. The app has been uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times so I tried resetting my phone and that worked. Now I feel foolish for messing around all evening and didn't think to cycle the phone. Oh well, worked out in the end. This light looks amazing. Way overkill for a biocube but better than lights out until my xr15 is fixed. Thanks for the help @malacoda.

The software is one of the major reasons I am switching to Radions. It kept resetting my custom program to acclimation mode several times.

It is pretty frustrating that is for sure.

It is very very frustrating. Another thing I wish is that they had an acclimation mode where you set your end numbers and time frame to reach it. Then over say 2 months it built up to your desired program. Similar to kessil.
but the lights are amazing for sure!

It does look great. If you can make a great light you would think the app would be easy..

I set my 2 Atlantiks V4s up, named the lights “left” and “right”.

I can go into “Quick” and control both lights no problem.

The thing I’m running into is the “right” light comes on randomly at what appears to be 100 percent. The “left” fixture stays off as it should.

To remedy, I tried unplugging the gateway, then unplug, plug back in both fixtures 4 times on both lights. The left light goes off after it blinks twice and the right light stays on after it blinks twice.

Both lights reconnect to the gateway, however the names that I used - “left” and “right” are still in there.

I thought doing the above is supposed to erase everything and reset to factory defaults.

The issue with the right light randomly coming on still remains.

I haven’t chosen a mode/schedule yet so does anyone know if 1 fixture randomly coming on happens until you set the fixtures on a program?

Both of my fixtures are connected and can be controlled with the Quick feature but I haven’t messed with any programs yet as my tank is still dry.

Now instead of 1 fixture coming on randomly, both are coming on randomly at what appears to be 80%. This happens at random times throughout he day.

Does the Atlantik do this until a program is set?

I just figured out everything about the app and it actually works perfectly and is super simple.

To confirm which program your fixtures are currently running, go to “programs” (it will always say “slow acclimation right off the bat), now wait for your named fixture(s) to appear next to “all”. Now select one of your named fixtures. At this point, the current program that is running will appear.

So after you toggle off of “all” and select one of the individual fixtures, the app “refreshes” and will show the actual program running.

You also have to make sure when you “send” the program you want, that you are on “all” before doing so, otherwise it will only send the program to the individual fixture that was highlighted.

Also note, if you go into “Quick” and start fiddling with the lights, you have to select “mode program” to return your lights to the program that was running” - however, even if you don’t, it will eventually automatically revert back to the running program.

I really hope this helps as I was confused, now I LOVE, the app, super easy!

Thanks! I think that was my problem, whenever I used "Quick" menu and pressed "Program", it kept sending the slow acclimation (default) mode to the lights! Now to cofirm which mode is running, I go to Settings then press and hold on the light name, it will show you the mode running with % of each color.

These lights are great and grow corals like WEED, but they should really make a more user friendly app just like the radions and hydras!
