Seneye by Reef Radiance

I bought one of these Seneye Reef monitors and was just able to set it up.
Apparently it constantly monitors your water for a few parameters and notifies you by email of readings and any projected problems.
Anyway it looks like it could be a somewhat useful tool.
I think it looks pretty cool the information shot i will include below.
I have to say, I am disappointed in the fact that it has to stay plugged into your computer in order for it to notify you. Luckily i have a laptop i can leave by the tank, otherwise i would have to keep it plugged into a wall to use as a storage and read the info when you get home by taking it out and plugging into a computer.
the PAR meter seems pretty cool too.
Another note I think will be an issue is buying a chip every 30 days. I didnt read all through the info on their site, actually it wasnt on their site, i noticed the instructions on quick guide on where to get the full instructions on a downloadable pdf. I havent figured out how much the chip will be at this point but i cant imagine it will be under $25 a month
Just day 1 and i think its pretty cool, just worried about the monthly expense...

Oh Cool, more money to dish out.
Pretty pricey. Think I'll just leave my laptop next to my tank...
Guess i can use that situation to skype into my pc and watch my tank on trips as well.

Off in what parameter, and how do you know which one is off if you just compare two devices?

PH, temp, both way different I have a ph tester coming and temp the apex was off 4 and the seneye was off by 9

My PH pen compared to my Seneye also shows a difference.
My Pen shows a few numbers lower than my Seneye

My wife bought me this for my birthday, i have done alot of reading on it n looked into alot of different ways to run this with out keeping it plugged into my laptop 24/7 i bought a wirelss wifi box with usb ports, now its always online n i can check from my android phone my tablet n laptop when im out of town, it works great

So 100% this thing reads my temp way off. I have raised my temp 2 times on the heater and i see the heater turning on. This still reads 72F while my other probe went up to 76 after the changes. been a week

mine is off like a degree but changes with my other so I know that works. make sure its in direct flow I noticed issues in stagnate places
