Seneye connected directly to a router via USB

So I am looking at possibly getting a seneye, would love the Apex but budget... Anyway, my tank is in relative proximity to my router, more so than my PC. The router has ethernet and USB ports on it. So my question is does anyone know if it will work as a replacement for the webserver if I connect the seneye directly into my router via usb? I searched the internet and found people who have used wireless access points and small usb computers or rasberry pi's but I just want to plug the seneye directly into my router.

Wait a couple weeks and try out the HYDROS controller 2, looks like it will cost 200$. Seneye is very hit or miss it seems.

Your seneye needs a computer to run.
What you can use is this usb computer stick.
You can connect The seneye to that and use it as a pc
It’s also 1/2 the price of the seneye gateway

Was looking at the Hydros control 2. The big thing for me was PH and temp monitoring. With the control 2 I only get Temp no PH, would have to go up to the Control 4 at $350.

I am also looking at something like robo-tank. I really dont need outlet control, just wanting PH and additional temp monitoring as a backup to my inkbird heater controller. The seneye had the added benefit of the PAR meter.

I have a rasberry pi just sitting around. May see how complicated that is. For that price point, ($200 for the seneye and $150 for the usb computer) I might just look at a Hyrdos control 4 or a used APEX. Or just get a long USB extender and hook the seneye right to my computer..

Very true. I like having the pH monitoring and that is unfortunately off the HYDROS 2.

Every 3 months. I got my seneye used so it was a great deal for me. I am sure apex will have a BRS version of the controller for like $199 .

Yeah, I have been looking at apex classics on ebay and locally. the computer is close but on the opposite wall so would 25' would probably do it. Im just now cycling, still need to get a skimmer and lights, just looking at options.

the seneye really shines when you are setting up a new tank.
It monitors your ammonia in real time.
it will definitely help with the cycle.
it will also help you setup your lightsusing the par meter.
It also monitors ph and temp
And it will alert you when your water level is low
So you can add water if you don’t have a ato
I have a apex and seneye and the ph on the seneye is really
Good and I would say better than apex

It will not work plugged directly into your router. A mini PC is probably the best option for connecting the Seneye to, instead of using thier webserver. The only benefit I can see of the webserver is that it also allows you to use their leak detectors.

Notebook computer for Seneye

Hey all. I got the Seneye Reef monitor but it's not wireless. Any suggestions for a small notebook or tablet with Windows and a full size host USB port? It'll be dedicated to the tank. Thanks!
