Hi,
I am new to this forum and have been running a small mixed reef tank for almost a year. About seven months ago I bought a Seneye set up and things were fine, however on the 12th of August this year the whole thing packed up just after I changed to a new slide and registered it with Seneye on the app.
Despite trying all the suggested solutions, no connectivity to the cloud. I have spent ages with numerous emails trying to contact them and literally dozens of attempts on the phone number given but no reply. Even the supplier I bought it from has had little luck.
My question is, have any other members experienced this problem with Seneye? and is there a simple solution I am missing.
Regards .... Jim.

Yes, and not really. My WiFi module quit after about six months of use, and I eventually gave up on using the system after my last slide pack ran out. I do still use it for the temperature probe and as a PAR meter, but the other functions are not terribly useful in an established tank. I keep waiting for Seneye's "improved" monitor with advanced features, but I haven't heard anything about that from the company in a year now.

Are you sending your e-mails to the right address? Seneye typically responded to my requests within 48 hours.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I just cut and paste the address and lots of telephone calls. In the past they have always been answered by Megan but no reply this time around. I have just bought a good supply of slides so I am vexed that this is happening. I inserted a new slide as per instructions and received a notice that it was registered then nothing. I will keep on at them perhaps the wifi module has broken down, but it has always been stowed in the waterproof box they sell so being seven months old it should be OK.
Regards .... Jim.

Well, you can always check by running an ethernet cable directly to your computer. If that doesn't work, then we'll know that there are bigger issues going on with Seneye.

Their economic model always seemed to be a bit iffy: aside from any profit from hardware, Seneye was built on the idea of a subscription-based business, which can work well up until the point that it really doesn't. I imagine that there were lots of people like me, who got excited by the initial idea, and then realized that it really didn't deliver all that much on an ongoing basis, and that the two most important metrics that it delivered for established tanks, temperature and PAR, were free to users anyway. It becomes a relatively easy decision to end slide purchases at that point.

Hi,
At long last a reply to my email, but the advice given was as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. The IP address could not be reached and it looks like they have changed the wifi and that response is " Hidden Address "whatever that is. So no further forward, I think I shall try the refund route. God only knows what kind of battle that will open up.
Stay tuned.
Cheers .... Jim. Or as I am now known "The angry Scotsman".
