Hi everyone. Does the seneye reef show PAR in real time, or does it simply show a reading once every "x" minutes?

I would be purchasing one SOLELY as a PAR meter. I have zero interest in a subscription based monitoring service and if it cannot measure PAR in real time, like an apogee, then I'll just bite the bullet and get the apogee ;-)

Thanks!

Here is a question ? do you take the reading while the pumps are on ? i have some good surface agitation. 4 inches under my average is 500 across the top

Mine is arriving today. It was ridiculously cheap at brs due to the Black Friday sale that ran this week. Dusted off the ol windows laptop just for it lol

Mine came covered in grease. Weirdest thing I've ever seen. It's like part of it melted or something.

I opted for an apogee because I do t have a laptop and it won't work connected to my iPad or iPhone without the web module which in my opinion is insanely expensive. Crazy that it's more then the actual device.

Really? Do you have a picture of it by chance ? Also a review of it would be great!!!

It's going back and being replaced immediately by brs. There's no way I'd stick that thing in my water lol

I did take a video of you Pm me your email I'll send you the vid.

Mines ordered! I can't wait... or I guess I can, the Mrs is making me wait until Christmas! :(

Hey you guys will love it. I personally only use it for Par. it's easy to use. now we all just need to get together and make some kinda wand to hold the sensor

Yeah the only hard thing is getting it to point up. I use a pair on large tongs, my tank is 3ft deep so getting it to stay is hard.

So far this is the "PAR Stick" 3' of rigid 1/4" plastic from an old UGF and two tie-raps.

Not much to setup really.
Log in to their site and grab the software after setting up an account.
Quick install and plug it in.

I do not use the NH3/temp and pH features with their "slides".
Don't even fool with sending all of my readings to the site either.
You could, and have graphs and history for sure.

Have noticed that Kelvin readings go astray with LED's in mixed combinations.
Checking only one lamp it is about spot on with color temperature.
Lux measurements seem correct when testing household lamps and such.

Using this in planted tanks and really only concerned with photosynthesis.
LED builds for me are 10K's, full spectrum, and 520nm(green)
I use the 10K to cut the pink out of the full spectrum LED's @ a 1:1 ratio.
Then add at least 1 or 2 greens to cut back the PAR and exhibit plants better.
Haven't done SW since the early 80's.
