Hello,

i have bought for a couple of days a used Seneye Reef monitor.
Yesterday I have taken the PAR readings in my Tank and I am pretty shocked of my readings.
I have one Orphek Atlantik V4 Gen 2 mounted about 25 cm above the Water level on my Red Sea 250 Tank.
My readings are : 180 PAR in the center of the Tank and about 3 cm under the water sourface and about 80 PAR in center at the bottom of the Tank. I am running the Orpheks 100% intensity and just Blue channel.
Could these reading be accurate?

What values were you expecting for your lighting configuration?

Well, maybe. I use a cheapo Nicrew 100w fixture above my IM40, and PAR is reading around 250 mid-tank right now on 100% "cool white", and 150 PAR full spectrum, so your readings do seem low.

Can you borrow another Seneye with which you can do a comparison?

well that’s blues only so it may be low due to that or it may be sen eye isn’t able to get a true reading in that specific spectrum?

I feel like there is a specific apogee used for led due to that.

Unfortunatly I have no other option for PAR reading

I was exepecting at least double PAR as these readings…
Is that what others see when running blue only with these lights?

Seneye did have a firmware issue where it read PAR incorrectly, but in that issue it was reading double what it should. It's discussed in this thread:
