To those who use or have used different reef monitoring systems, which one is best in your opinion?

-Good Price
-Quality
-Monitoring capabilities (pH, Ca, dKh, etc...)
-Ease of use
Which do you prefer?
Why?

I'm looking into investing in one...just not sure where to go...

if you want just the basics, ph\temp\alarm, get a seneye, needs a PC or wifi thingy to get the alarms though. Basic device with cheap old laptop = good value. Needs the slides replaced, but other systems need the calibration fluid and probe replacement.

If you like tinkering and messing around with code of electronics, get the reef pi. Great value, but only for enthusiasts IMHO.

If you want something that does everything and does is well, get the Apex. Expensive, but for a good reason, great track record, service and interface.

There is a fourth option, the profilux. Has been on the market since the late 1600's. You can get an older version like the 3.1 very cheap second hand, and they keep selling all the parts. Very reliable, has network connectivity, but not as easy to use as the Apex. Somewhere in between the reefpi and the Apex in my experience.

(I own Apex, profilux and seneye. Reefpi advice not based in personal use)
