Hi all

I was given a seneye by my wife so I can put my corals in the best place possible. Its starting to cause issues! My son has broken his laptop so he needs mine! "Problem ". So I grab my phone and look at the WiFi modals there are 2 on the market! One says sws???? The other says sws wifi but reading the info is really confusing! Can anyone tell me kinda pros and cons so I can make an educated guess on what I need!

I am curious about this myself. I will be following this. I have the basic model, but it needs to be connected to a laptop full time in order to have real-time readings.

You said you were given one by your wife. I read that as you already have a basic one? Have you opened the original packaging already? There was a disclaimer that came with mine that said "Once the original seal is broken, no returns are accepted."

One includes a small USB WiFi module and the other doesn't and needs connected with ethernet I believe. I have the one with the WiFi module and it works well

You can probably buy your own WiFi module as the connection between my module and the SWS is ethernet. So you probably just need a device which can join your existing network and do DHCP but again I've not tested it

I like that idea. I want the real time readings, but I would rather not dedicate my laptop to achieve that.

I would have absolutely no idea how to so any of that! If you have the sws does it text you or do u need to be standing next to it?

There are a couple of YouTube videos that explains exactly how to do this. I bought a WiFi model myself (used; it came in a package deal) and heartily recommend it.

I really like the Seneye Reef system. The timer on my brand-new titanium heater had a glitch and it didn't reset itself; the Seneye sent out a warning email when the temperature went below 21C. I wouldn't have known at all but for the warning message -- who checks temperatures anything other than daily or once every few days?

Ok thank you I didnt think to look on You Tube, which is strange coz I always have You Tube on in the background! I had a issue like that myself and the only reason I found out my son had put the heater in the wrong place was because I got a coral delivery. He did everything and when I looked in the tank one of the corals had fallen so I popped my hand in and thought thats cold! It was at 21c! I really need to get this thing working!
