I woke up from the couch to the words "Honey. Something's wrong with the tank". That will wake you right up. It's a 225 and it looked like someone filled it with milk. After checking everything and anything that could have gone wrong I saw my Sebae spewing streams of white liquid into the tank. The Skimmer was going nuts and there was a thick goo on the water surface in the sump. And it smelled great.
I run my tank very simple only using a skimmer and a fuge but I left my filter sock holders and dual reactor in place for emergencies. I fit in 2 felt socks and filled both reactors with Rox 8 as well as 2 more cups of carbon in a mesh sock in the sump.
All the corals were sliming adding to the issue but by the next morning the tank was down to just cloudy and the sliming stopped. A day later there is only the slightest haze and nothing is worse for the wear.
The culprit
