I was wondering if anyone else has a sentinel coral (a coral that starts showing signs as soon as any of your parameters get out of balance)? I have noticed that my encrusting Montiporas will begin to lighten as soon as my dKH begins to drop.

Most wouldn’t even notice when they look at my tank but as my SPS start to hit growth spurts and I need to up my dosing I slightly notice my Montipora is becoming lighter. I will test and sure enough I will need to increase my dosing. I do check my parameters frequently but as I’m sure we are all guilty of letting life get in the way sometimes! Just wondering if anyone has this experience?

Yep, my fox flame acro is currently alerting me to, uhhh, something. It's getting lighter and not extending its polyps. I tested everything and parameters are good. So his communication is lacking. ;Joyful
