Sentinel dosing to kill red bugs? ...

Well, I was going off the fact that Interceptor as far as I understood was no longer being made. I had heard that Sentinel was the replacement to it. I googled a bit and it looked like a few people had tried sentinel. Was not certain where I could get the milbemycin outside of sentinel.

So do some more research. Milbemax is what I used and Interceptor Spectrum is the direct Novartis replacement for Interceptor (Milbemax is Novartis too). They both have the same ingredients and don't contain Lufernon. We all know it is the Milbemycin Oxime that kills the red bugs, so why put lufernon in your system too? There is no way around having to put praziquantel in your system now that Interceptor is gone, but you are not even getting around that by using Sentinel...

Red bugs suck, but they aren't anything you need to rush to get rid of of. If you got Spectrum and are afraid of wasting that money - just give it to your dog or cat instead of Heartguard for their next heartworm med dose and order Milbemax or Interceptor Spectrum for your tank.

So how did the process turn out for you?
Well I just did the second dose of medication to make sure they were fully eradicated on Monday and woke up today to my new Frag of sunset Milli half way RTN'ed and a quarter of my candle light acro Frag also RTN'ed. Not sure if this was due to the sentinal or the fact that I just realized I've been having temp dips into the 77's at night. A little history on the sps that have shown RTN last night are as follows... The sunset mille was new to the system about a week old and was showing stress from the minute it was introduced showing little to no polyp extension and a lack of vibrant colors so that one was no surprise. The Candle light acro on the other hand was moderately established in the system having been in there for 6months. So it is not certain as to whether the RTN culprit is due to the sentinal or temp swings of around 3-4 degrees... sorry I wish I had a more definitive input but everything else seems to be holding up fine. I will update in a week to see if anything else changes...

Ugh. Sorry to hear. Just did a sentinel dosing myself. So far so good.

NP bud. The sentinal should do the job for ya. I think it did the job for me but the tank wasn't up much longer after my treatment to evaluate the effectiveness.
its a shame that i let the system go under as the tank was definitely a jaw dropper and worthy of being on the cover of magazines.
i guess once i started losing coral left and right i got defeated and stopped caring for the tank.
Rest assure though that i have a new system in the works that will bring me back with a vengeance!
