I taking down and selling my biocube in my room. But I have a clownfish pair (an ORA platinum and a premium Picasso.) in there. I was trying to sell them as a pair but my black ice clown in my 120 gallon doesn't have a mate at this point and I'm debating weather to put the Picasso in there and just selling the platinum. The pair has been together for around 2 years. Would there be issues with them if I do split them? Like clown depression or something? Lol

I have read people decribe a clown "looking for" a missing mate usually after a death and not eating and acting lethargic. I think we many times give human emotions to fish behavior but it's more likely a reaction to the change - I'm pretty sure it's not depression but the fish most likely would have some reaction to the loss of a mate - but should be fine. Hope that post made sense.

I guess I would be the most concerned on which sex the picasso is. If it's an established female in that pair, then it may be too aggressive if your black ice is not a submissive male.

Thanks for the reply! But yes, the Picasso is a male and would continue being the male with the black ice. She is pretty big. The Picasso is much smaller then the black ice. I think I still rather sell them as a pair and get another black ice for the big tank.. But I was curious.
