Has anyone had trouble with a Sergeant major eating other fish? Lately when I try to add new fish they go missing within 24hrs. I bought two new Damsel today and it doesn't look like they will last...

Eating other fish, no. Constantly harassing other fish, yes. How big is the Sergeant Major? Are you sure you don't have some unwanted hitchhiker such as a mantis shrimp in your tank?

Hes about four inches and I bought two green damsel I think they r called. One has half his tail missing already and the other is hiding... I keep seeing him and my black damsel going out after the new guys...

Don't take this the wrong way but your first issue is having any damsels at all, IMO

Yea I know can't afford any other fish right now and im waiting to set up my 75 gallon to get better fish

Sergeant majors can be pretty territorial. He will harass any 'newcomers' to his territory. He now considers the entire tank as his, so unless you add quite a few fish at once, which will probably mess up your biological filtration, the sergeant major will probably have to go.
