I've had this seriatopora for more than two months. Initially it looked really healthy. But over time it started to develop necrosis starting from the base and it has been spreading since. Does someone know a potential cause ?

Most folks are going to want to know a few things to assess:

How old is the tank?
Parameters?

The tank is 8 months old.
Measurements are from saturday.
Kh: 8.3
Ca: 380
Mg: 1200
No3: 25
Po4: 0.1

What about lighting?

Did it ever grow, or did you buy a small colony that slowly died?

Any other SPS that's doing well in there?

For lighting I have two AI prime 16HD mounted 12 inches from the surface.

It had good polyp extention but It never grew.

I have a pavona that is growing and a montipora that is holding on but not growing

Ca is on low end. Magnesium is far too low. NO3 and PO4 are high. Are you dosing to maintain levels or relying on water changes?
Until two weeks ago I was doing water change, I decided to hold for a bit to get rid of cyano I had on the sand. This weekend I realised that Ca and Mg were too low so i bought additive from aqua forest.

I’ll bet you $1000 that it has nothing to do with parameters. That pavona to the left is stinging the crap out of it after lights out. Those are vicious mothers. They throw sweepers like Galaxea do.
I just moved the pavona next to it this weekend. It can't be him. But I guess you are right I will have to relocate to avoid damage.

Dimensions of tank? at 12 inch mounting height you are looking at a bare minimum par for sps at 6" under the surface.
The tank is a 30 g juwel rio.
I just checked, the seriatopora is 8 inches from the surface. The AI primes are not full power. Here is the profile I am using.

Mag is low, which can cause instability with cal and alk. How often do you test alk? Param swings can cause stn like this.
Good morning,

I test alk every day or every other day.
I haven't had too much variation of alk since I got this sps. I'd say the tipical oscillation would be between 8 and 8.3.

I dose a buffer to keep it that way.

Today's measurement.
Kh : 8.3
Ca : 400
Mg : 1200

Since only calcium has increased with the dosing I am going to increase the dose for Mg slowly.

Necrosis is still there.
