I acquired a serpant starfish last week. I put him in my tank and have only seen him once since.

I have a lot of rock in a 75 gal so I think he is hiding somewhere.. Am I right or wrong?

You'll hardly ever see them. They normally only come out at night to scavenge. I've got a bunch in my tanks from Ocean live rock. Maybe catch a glimpse of the tip of a leg every few months.

I hope you didn't buy it to look at. That's not its purpose. It's there as a member of the clean up crew

100% this. You might be able to find its hiding spot and if you do, you’ll still only see a portion of it

Actually I got it from Tampa Bay Saltwater as a b day gift since my rock arrived the day after my bday..I was concerned about the little fella
Thanks for your replies

They are nocturnal. Occasionally you will see their arms coming out for food during feeding time, very reclusive for sure
