Hey everyone, so I noticed my serpent starfish had some reddish maroon colored marks on his head?!? Should I be alarmed?!? No change in his behavior.
He’s housed in a biocube 32 with a hawkfish, 2 clowns and other clean up crew. I have soft corals, but nothing that would sting him.

Very cool starfish!

Thanks! As long as he’s healthy, I’ll be okay ❤️

Where did you get the starfish and how long have you had him?
A buddy of mine moved and I basically inherited all his live stock. The star is originally from liveaquaria and he has had him for 3 years. He’s been with me for a month. Any idea what could be happening?

I believe this is a brittle star which will have natural red pigments to it.

Wow. I didn’t know they could do that! I asked my friend if the star had any history of that, and apparently it’s never done that before. Is it safe to assume he’s happily moved in and thriving?

Give it food and hiding spaces- It will be happy
