I have been using kalkwasser for and am now switching to two part dosing. My current parameters are:

180 gallon total volume
Alk: 8.5
Ca: 450
Soft corals

My question is how much should I start dosing to keep those parameters. I know I will have to adjust but what is a good starting volume assuming I'm dosing Ca Chloride and Soda Ash with a dosing pump. Ill manually dose Mg.

You need to figure out how much dKH per day you go through.

Test today - at a specific time (say, 10 pm).
Test tommorow - at the same time.
Test the next day - at the same time.

That should tell you how many dkH per day the tank is consuming.

Then go to here (or similar) http://reef.diesyst.com/chemcalc/chemcalc.html - plug in 180 gallons, pick your product, pick the amount of dKh you're dropping each day, and it'll tell you how much you need to dose. Split that up over a couple times a day if needed.

If you know your alk/ca use per day use an online calculator like this one

If you don’t know your usage mess with the alk or ca usage until you get a volume close to where you are at. Then use that usage to estimate the dose with your new 2 part.
