60 gal breeder/frag tank using my main system sump and pump. Main is 185 gal. I'm adding around 40 lbs of new reefsand and a few pieces of lock from the main. Will this create an ammonia spike? Do I need to cycle the breeder first or will it be fine and ready to go? How would you do it?

Just make sure you acclimate it slow...Just If you can, turn down the pump going into the main tank for slow flow!

That's a great idea.
I'm thinking about adding half the watere from my main tank then filling it with new water. Then letting it settle for about an hour I pull the trigger. Ill post some pics by Monday night.
