I recently bought a 75 gallon aquarium with an internal overflow. Assuming it holds water (seller said it did, well see) it will be my 2nd saltwater tank. My 54 gallon corner tank is my first tank and is still a very new tank, the 75 is planned for a upgrade from the 54 down the road. Until that time comes, I'm gathering supplies. One thing I have a question about is power heads. I currently have 2 jebao (1 on my salt tank and 1 on my cichlid tank) and love them. But I've been looking into the mp10 and the mp40... there is also the gyre style. With this size of tank is there anybody who has tried all 3 or at least 2 and can share which theybluked best?

In my opinion, the long pumps like the gyres are superor over the single head pumps like mp40s, solely because they can make so much more flow for so much less pump! But, the single-head pumps are good for specific spots where you need more flow (for example, in the back of the tank or in a good SPS spot). It really comes down to the type of tank you want.

My current tank is a lps tank with some fish, since I'll have more room and more of a "show tank" I'd really like to do a mixed reef but primarily lps. Maybe a gyre and then mp10 on the bottom/mid in the back?

That would be good! As I said, it really depends on how you set up the tank. Both the Gyres and the MP40's are awesome because they can be adjusted if you ever decide to change it to an SPS tank!

I ran an Icecap 3k and had enough flow but wouldn’t have minded a little something on the other side.

Upgraded to two Maxspect 250 which were overkill (bought them for my current upgrade).

I haven't looked into them much but are the gyre speed adjustable, if so maybe one on each side turned down low with a small power head in the lower back
