I will be picking the aquarium up on the first.
Here is what is coming with it:
Tank, stand, HOB overflow, 10g sump, sicce xs500 pump, 2 AI Prime(non HD), SCA 301 skimmer, DC 4000 return pump and controller, about 40lbs of dead rock.
so after this is setup and cycled what do yall recommend for livestock and corals based upon the above?
I have owned large saltwater aquariums before for years but have been out of the hobby for about 4 years.

Will the sicce pump and the return pump produce enough flow for LPS an SPS?
What about the lights for corals?

Welcome to R2R!! And welcome back to the hobby!!

So sounds like your getting a nice setup soon. I would say that you will need more flow in the display. Even though the DC 4000 puts out good flow for that size tank, much of it will go down due to head loss and aquascape. You’ll find that you’ll have many dead spots in the tank. If you are planning on SPS down the line, I would say adding in more flow is definitely needed. The good part is that there’s many options with different price ranges.

What type of rock are you getting and how do you plan to cycle?

For the lighting you have a few options:
  • Hybrid T5 with name brand LED fixtures such as Kessil, AI, Radion XR, etc. Most expensive
  • Full name brand LEDs. Still expensive
  • Hybrid T5 with Chinese black box LEDs. Moderately expensive
  • Chinese black box only. Such as Marsaqua or Viaspectra. Least expensive.
With SPS you want a nice 250+ par distribution for coral health. The lights above have different distribution profiles, spectrum peaks, and par levels. Find the one that fit your plans for coral.

I will also have the Sicce XSTREAM WAVE PUMP (1320 GPH) that I mentioned.

The Rock was previously used in the same tank by previous owner but it has dried out.
