Hey guys. So in June I’ll be going on vacation for 7 days and I know for a fact my current ATO doesn’t hold enough water to last the full week. I was going to try and set up a backup reservoir to use when my main reservoir runs dry. I have a few different float switches and a Apex breakout box to use for this process but I’m not quite sure how to go about coding it. I’ll more than likely use an apex pmup as the backup reservoir pump and a couple magnetic float switches

An easier solution would be to use a temporary, larger reservoir while on your trip. It can sit outside the stand temporarily while you travel. Just move your ato pump over to the temp reservoir and you should be good to go. Just an alternative idea to a backup system and programming.

What I would suggest though if you're going to go your route, get it set up weeks in advance and make sure it functions as you want prior to departure.

My $.02 anyway.

I do with mine. My current pretty built in storage tank doesn't last a full 7 days. Not an issue when I'm home but if I go away for extended period I just grab a bigger container and put beside my tank and switch ato pump there and have full two weeks easy. Easy solution to something that doesn't come up often so works for me.

If I needed more frequently I would just upgrade existing storage tank to bigger one

Guess that would be the easier route... not sure why I didn’t even think of that haha I’ll more than likely just do this as I obviously already have all the parts I need. Thanks guys!

I agree with dbl. This is a fantastic idea! Until you have sufficient amount of time to work out the initial setup you wanted with the coding. When you get back you then can setup, code and test until your 100 percent it's fail safe. Enjoy your vacation
