Setting up a frag tank in my garage?

So I have a fairly large amount of space in my garage that I want to put a moderately large frag tank. I know I've heard of people setting up a tank in the garage but am unsure if it will work in my situation and what exactly do I need to do so?

I'm located in Mississippi and we can have pretty hot and cold seasons. Would a chiller and a heater balance this out during these swings I'm temperature? If not, how to people keep the temp at a consistent level?

I had a chiller hooked up to a small refrigerator. Both were used so it was a cheaper situation. My tank was a deep blue 60g. Temp was around 76-81 during the summer and in the winter I kept it cooler at 72-74 with a 300w heater. Surprisingly, I lost only some montis so I stopped keeping them in there. I had Acros, LPS, zoas, shrooms, even non photos in there. Another tip would be to run lights on it at night. I would run T5 if it's a shallow tank so heat will become an issue for the bulbs.

Wow! That is a pretty sweet looking setup you have there. I'll have to look into how a chiller actually works. I also have to find somewhere to buy a frag tank from as there are no local fish stores here. I bet shipping online would be pretty pricey.

It's broken down now. I'm getting ready to move. I had it going for around three years.

That's too bad! I had to tear mine down to move as well. It's so much fun when you can start them back up!

Agreed. This time I'll have two. I'm actually breaking my 90g display down for the move and when I get to the new house, I'll have two frag systems going in the garage. Good thing is, its cooling down in TN.

I had to slowly talk my wife into letting me set all my stuff back up after we moved. She loves it but doesn't like having to break it down for moves etc. For my 55 gallons, I waited until she wasn't here and set it up lol. Paid for it but it was worth it lol! Now she's all for me setting up this frag tank so I'm jumping on it before she changes her mind lol

Yeah, the temp is cooling down here. I'm in Oxford Ms so not to far away!
