That's it, I'm done! So tired of being shocked. Anyways....

My tank runs on a surge protector and a second gfci protected surge protector. My new ground probe says to plug it into the wall outlet. I was thinking I needed to plug it into the gfci surge protector?

Which is it??

Edit: don't know how to change the title but meant ground probe

Ground is ground. The GFCI has a way of monitoring for ground faults, so it might be better there.
That's what I was thinking but the instructions say this (#3)

Some extension cords or outlets are not grounded, or the grounds could be bad.

If you really want to check, you can multimeter it or you can use one of the plug in ground checkers.
Good call, I'll stick my multimeter in there to confirm I'm grounded

If they have a ul label, they must have the ground connected.

I use these on all my tanks but they're bolted behind my stands so I can't see if there's ul labels

Edit: I use the gfci version of these

This one says its cUL, Canadian ul.
If so, it should be marked on the device.
