I've got 2 tanks setup right now but I've got coral substrate in those tanks but I really don't like it so I'm gonna use sand in this tank so I'm gonna buy live sand and then some other type of colored sand but I was wondering what types of color sands look good with a coral tank or if I should just use regular sand and another thing is when I'm starting the tank can I put the color sand on top of the live sand right away or wait until after the tank has cycled? Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Colored sand is up to you. Just make sure it doesn't contain silica or any type of metals. Most prefer white, some like black as it helps the color pop. You can mix the sand together as you add it to the tank, it will all become live at some point in the cycle.

Also, make sure it's not too fine...powerheads and fish will cause sand storms. I switched to the agri-live special grade sand and love it.
