Hi, I am in the midst of setting up a 10 gallon QT tank and I am planning on adding Dr. Tim's Ammonium Chloride Solution to cycle the tank. I will also eventually copper the QT tank as well. How long do i have to let the Dr. Tim's run thru before I can add fish to the tank? Anything else i should look to add besides Dr. Tim's and Copper? I am using a AquaMaxx HOB-PF Hang On Back Power Filter.

Also, since this is only a 10 gallon tank, is 1 fish at a time the only way to be successful? These would be new fish to my 220 FOWLR DT. I was planning to buy a Flame Fin (Tomini) Tang, French Angelfish and Valentini Puffer. Not sure the 10 gallon can handle all 3 at once, although my local fish store has all 3 in stock. Would separating them in the QT tank with egg crate help or would the small space stress them out even more? Last question, how many days should i expect to keep them in QT?

Thank you.

I would recommend getting a 20g long for your QT and would not suggest all them fish as well. Make sure your qt has cycled and there is no ammonia. Put a sponge in your qt that has been in your DT to speed things up. For copper I would suggest copper power or something similar slowly ramping up levels to 1.5 - 2.0 for useful treatment for a minimal of 14 days. Just make sure your copper levels stay in that range for the whole 14 days. Observe fish before they enter DT I also treat for two weeks with api general cure as well

Sounds good. I have the 10 gallon is the problem, but i can look into setting up a 20 instead. Thanks for the other input.
