Setting up a tropical saltwater tank.

Hey, have had a tropical freshwater tank for the past 2 years. But have now became interested in the idea of having a saltwater tank. I currently have a 38 gallon tank, would that be alright?
What would I need to buy to get a tank up and running?

Research Research Research, there are the basics you'll need and then there are the specifics pertaining to the exact type of setup your going for, so to say tropical saltwater tank covers a fast variety of environments. for the size of your tank you will be limited to smaller quantities and smaller species of live stock, Good Luck on your journey, its about to get Epic!!!

I agree with all the posts above. Welcome to the hobby now before you spend a lot of money do lots of research and figure out more specifically what kind of tank you want, livestock, or coral? Of course always come back here and ask lots of questions. This is definitely a great forum for getting help. Good luck!

Sorry didn't see this posting. A Fowlr is a great way to start in the hobby also save you plenty of money as well. What type of fish are you interested in?

Although they offer a decent compatibility chart, that chart should be taken with a grain of salt aggressive fish are aggressive, semiaggressive can be aggressive, and always always stock peaceful with strictly peaceful. there are so many horror stories about how their peaceful tank was terrorized by a damsel or pseudo chromis or other, just saying learn from other people's mistakes it will say you tons of time effort and money
