hi all im not new to fish keeping as ive kept freshwater for 3 years namely chiclids but im new to saltwater. I want to give up freshwater and try marine
my question to you all is what do i need to setup a tank my current tank is a juwel vision 260 with an external filter coral rock and sand what equipment do i need and dont need all your help will be appreciated thanks all.

its a big difference lol. You would want to get a:

Heater
skimmer
master test kits with atleast to test ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, to monitor nitrate cycle.
Lights are going to be the biggest thing. I would recommend looking into LEDs. I can really advise how much. Need dimensions of hood and tank.
RO/DI unit to save lots of money with making your own water.
Refractometer or hydrometer if funds are tight.
TDS meter.
water jugs or brute can.
A Sump would help a lot but not required to keep a reef.
Timers for lights are good.
Thermometer. Digital is more accurate but any would help.
All I can think of for now.

Welcome to R2R......I am not familiar with your current tank maybe you could post the size and dimension of the tank for better help from myself and others. What you will and won't need will depend on the type of tank, fish and corals you want to keep, but some stuff to get you started would be;

Sump ( might be able to use canister filter if your tank is small - medium but sump down the line )
Skimmer when you get a sump
Return pump for sump
Powerhead for water movement in tank
Adequate Lighting

More advanced stuff would be

Reactors
Dosing pumps
Controllers for automation

Lots more but thats a start...also check out the beginner guides lots of great information, and as always plan plan and plan again along with taking your time....will save you money and frustration in the long and short run.
