Setting up Hospital Tank

So I’ve picked up the ich and now I’m trying to figure out best solution for fixing the issue. We are thinking a 40 gallon hospital tank. However do I need full par lighting and full filtration or should I avoid using carbon if I’m going to use copper. I’ve never tried to cure ich this way so as much help would be much appreciated

no carbon as it will neutralize copper. You don't need a full light like you do in your DT. A hang on the back filter will be fine. Add bacteria if you have any to the filter. Will help keep ammonia low or keeping it from increasing too much. Nevertheless, check ammonia daily and do water changes to maintain toxic levels from increasing.

Can I really use a rubbermaid container as a hospital tank. And should put some rock in it as shown or leave it rock less.

Yes that will work and no rock

If you are going to medicate then don’t put rocks. You can use anrubbermaid tub. The down sides I can think of are that it is harder to observe the fish and maybe harder to attach a hob filter (but you can use an in tank sponge filter)

Whatever you use make sure it is covered - sucks to lose fish to jumping

If you have sand burying wrasses you Can put a little sand in a Tupperware container for them to sleep
