Setting up kalk stirrer, questions?

I want to setup a kalk stirrer and ill be dosing it into the tank on the hour for 24hrs. Just wanted to ask if I need to keep the kalk stirrer fully saturated and dose as such, based on alk consumption? Aswell what would be best practice?

I dose based on full saturation. If you don’t, it will make it difficult to maintain a consistent dosage.

I use the avast k2 stirrer. I rod the outlet out once per month so it doesn’t clog. I believe all stirrers would need this. Otherwise, I have had no issues in 2 years. I have used spectrapure liter meter 3 for many many years to dose.

I DIY’d using a cheap magnetic stirrer and an old calcium reactor. But no reason you couldn’t do it with a vacuum flask instead of a reactor.

Definitely agree that it turns out easier than a reservoir. I can set it and forget it for weeks at a time.
