Setting up my first sump, need some assistance.

I just picked up a very nice 55 gal tank. Its new to me but i couldnt pass up the deal as i traded a 16gal biocube for it. Im looking for advice on how to set up the sump. I understand its water in one side and water out the other but is there a recommendation between skimmer first, fuge second? I made this rough drawing up on paint so i hope it explains what im going for. im just curious if it really matters what order things go at. To me it would make sense for filter socks, skimmer, bio blocks, chemical filtration, then a fuge in the second compartment and heaters and return pump in the last. Thanks
