Hello all. So I’m not necessarily new to the hobby but it has been quite a while, I had a 30g Nanocube about 10 years ago. Just a heads up, the tank has been sitting in my basement for about a month and a half, I’m taking things VERY slowly. I’ve been trying to do as much research as I can and I’m finally getting ready to start up my Reefer 350. I have some direct questions, and would appreciate any other opinions or guidance! Thanks!

Here’s what I’ve got so far:
-Varios 4 return pump
-Red Sea RSK-300 skimmer
-Clarisea SK-3000
-2 AI Nero 5’s
-1 Kessil AP9X
-KESSIL H380 for chaeto
-Apex Controller
-BRS 4 Stage RODI system

Things I’ll be getting this week:
-Red Sea Mature Kit
-UV sterilizer
-ATO
-Seneye
-Neptune DOS
-Apex auto feeder

Some details on sump:
-Removed filter socks for sump to make room for filter roller
-Hoping to hard plumb
-Chaeto refugium, possibly adding miracle mud

Misc Plans:
-Planning on implementing Triton other methods after roughly 3 months post cycle.
-Hoping to have a mixed reef.
-80lbs of Reel Reef Rock, or Caribsea LifeRock.
-Live sand from Caribsea, not sure what do go with here but I‘ve seen some people do mixtures. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Questions:
-Are the RSK-300, Clarisea SK-3000, and Varios 4 all sufficient options for this size tank?
-Would one AP9X provide enough light? Or would I likely need another one?

Again any advice/guidance beyond those 2 questions would be greatly appreciated. I can’t wait to get this thing up and running, I just want to start off with a solid foundation.

Sounds like quite a list to start with. The kessil ap9x i have two of them over my my 180 6' and pretty happy with them. Are you another michigander?

Get some live rock to seed the rock you plan to use.

If you can get some live rock shipped to you or obtained from a local reefer or LFS, it will substantially help the biodiversity of the tank; you don't need much, around five-ten pounds should be sufficient.

Oh I see what you’re saying, thanks!

Bump...

are the RSK-300 and Clarisea SK-3000 sufficient for the Reefer 350?

If you are doing a mixed reef that skimmer should be fine.
