Hey everyone,
This weekend i will begin the set up of my new 90 gallon tank, its a shallow tank, 14 inches in height. (I have had this idea in my head for a while now.) 3 months ago or so i built the sump, out of a 40 gallon breeder tank, and i am pretty pleased at how that baby turned out. Anyway, moving on, this weekend i will be building a stand for it, which will be pretty basic. If anyone has any suggestions id love to hear it. Now for the reason of this post, Currently i have at most 60 gallons of water in my setup, which is including my sump water. New tank will have roughly 110 - 120 gallons of water. If i were to use all the water i have and add in a fresh new 60 gallons of water, this will more than likely cause a new cycle right?
I will be using all my rock which is about 60 pounds, and another 75 pounds of rock from a friend who has had it in their tank for years. The sand is gonna be a coin toss depending on how things work out, but regardless i will be needing to purchase a **** load because of the footprint this tank has, (43" x 35"). Anyway this will be the first time i have ever done a full move from one tank to another. Hoping i could get some feedback on a proper procedure as to how i should tackle this. I am not really in a rush, but my current stand has taken a toll for the worst, and looks like it might buckle some time soon. So i would rather move everything sooner than later.
Thanks
Giancarlo
