I am starting a new reef tank and will be building/stacking/molding dry live rock to create formation I want. Is there a "reef safe" molding clay or cement or epoxy I can use from your local home depot or lowes?? Instead of buying the reef approved stuff online. .

yea, same here. I dont like the inconstant results from the aquastick or the water weld. Ive had stuff stay together for years or one day.
Im looking for the reefsafe diy to do in tank repairs with the marco style because of the inconsistency.
btw the aquastick is $8 at amazon, the waterweld too. dont mind it for frags but man its making me crazy right now.

You can pick up Rectorseal Epoxy putty from HD or Lowes....and it's a putty that won't flow like the "liquid" epoxies. Works great.

I used JB Water Weld and with the rocks that were completely dry is worked well. However, the rocks that were even the slightest bit wet/damp, I might as well have not even used it with how easily it broke apart.

duh I should have asked you in the first place. The handyman.
I get totally inconsistent results with the putty n gel, Esp on in tank rescapes rock to rock, is this stuff better?

I was looking at the marco style portlant cement styles as you can mix em thick and it hardens fast and strong. Yes you have to be careful of the ones with plasticisers(not reef safe). But internet paranoiao on curing keeps getting the better of me. have you done it?
