Setting up Quarantine tank!

So I think I did this right, but love your guys input to be safe! Can never be to cautious!

Setting up a qt to prep for my 55g

Qt:
10gal
Power filter @ 150g/h
Ammonia alert in tank suction thingie
50w heater
Thermometer
Powerhead
Some pcv elbows for hiding

That all I need yeah? I'll figure out a cover situation so my dog hair doesn't land inside as well.

Do I need to cycle my qt??? I don't want to put a sponge from my current tank or use any media from there since it's highly possible that may be contaminated when I put in my clowns, one of which most likely has ich

Ya I rush set my up in 24hrs. I didn't let it cycle. I did 50% tank water and 50% freshly mixed saltwater. I knew my DT had ich. But if you put copper in the QT then it will fix that. Other thing was is I had a filter/powerhead that had media inside of it. So I imagine that had some establish bacteria already. Then right after I bought a HOB filter with a bag of media for the bacteria to grow on.

Ok that's cool to know. How long did you leave your DT fallow for, while treating the fish with ich in QT?

I forgot, I cheated it some. They might've been there 40-50 days. You're suppose to QT 76 days for ich while the DT is fishless to kill it completely.
