Hey everyone, I was hoping to get your input on something. I'm looking at setting up a frag tank in my garage, eventuall plumbing it through the wall to my display in the house. My question is is setting up the frag tank in the garage a dumb idea because of the temp swings in the weather in eastern Washington, around 95 in the summer and 10 or so for a low in the winter? Keep in mind that my garage is insulated which helps a bit to regulate temp and I have a chiller that I plan on setting up in the garage as well.

I guess I'm most concerned about the tank cracking because of the warm water on the inside and the colder air in the winter or the garage becoming overly warm in the summer because of the warmer air and the chiller producing extra heat because it is located in the garage.

Any thoughts or ideas on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

If it is just going to be a frag tank you could just use some rubbermaid tubs or something like that. Low to the ground and you can have a lot of volume without worrying about the glass. If you already have the glass tank then I think it would be ok to use, you can always put a space heater in the garage for really cold spells.
