Setting up temp home

Ok so i am forced to tear down my tank and redo it do to the clear slime (see my other post) so what my plans are to go today and buy a 40g for the dollar a gallon sale my question is what other things will i need like what kind of hob filter and stuff

I had to go back and review your other post. Honestly, I'm not sure breaking down the tank is a good idea. I would be surprised if the source of your organics is something in the tank. You can tear it down, but until you find and correct the source of the organics feeding the bacteria you should expect the clear slime to come back.

If you want to tear it down anyway, it would help if you could post your current livestock and how long you think the tear down will take. Definitely an HOB, heater, probably an air stone or small powerhead. Lighting. PVC fittings or other form of shelter. That would be a bare minimum.

Well i have already established that it is the rock that has caused the issue seeing as i already tore it down before change the sand and water and cleaned the rocks with saltwater and a brush the tear down will only be until the cycle is complete the new setup will be natural sea water, haitian live rock and 2 bags of sand the live rock i am getting is 50 percent live

The live stock that i have is a
Plate coral
7 head hammer coral
And like 5 frags

5 turbo snails
10 blue leg hermits
5 red hermits
Blood shrimp
2 clowns
2 cromis
1 powder brown tang
1 magnificent foxface
1 yellow belly hippo tang

Very interesting! I've heard of rocks causing all sorts of problems but never the clear slime. Great to know! And very glad it solved it for you!
