Hello,

I've an evergrow 2080 on my tank (power 244w) at 24cm above the water surface. Tank surface is 100cmx60cm with 47cm of water height.

I'm always wondering if my setup is good... The corals seems to be find, but, i saw Caulastrea less well and i've one acropora with purple tips which is less purple... I'm wondering if i don't have to much light.

I'm run with 7 hours with 80% blue and 60% white, 3 hours before and 3 hours after to simulate the sunrise and the slept of the sun. Do you think is too much...??

Are they turning white? If so, it might be too much light. It could also be a bunch of other things but I'm talking light specifically.

the acropora slowly... And all the caulastrea, the tissues slowly decline on the base of the polyps.

If the light is new and you didnt use leds before you may be burning them. I have the 2080 now and switched from the 2040's and still had to slowly turn up my lights. These things are powerful.

It's not really new, it run for 4 month now.... Before, i had à Razor 160W 16K which run à 80% with 120° pads, but i used to do a full power period of 2 hours, with a slow up and down.

I would turn them down for a bit. LED lights are a bit more harsh. There's a good thread somewhere around here talking about LEDs. I ran mine at 40% at first then slowly turned them up every few weeks by 5%. You may very well be giving them too much light and they are shocked. This is just from my experience. I'm not exactly a seasoned reefer either but this is what I've witnessed and experienced myself.

It could also be a combination of things. Aside from the light what are your water parameters. I never chase these but my tank is nothing to brag about right now. If you post those someone else might be able to chime in on what they think.

You may just want to turn them down by 20% for a few weeks and see whats happens. just a suggestion.
