Setup plan

Hello Fellow Reefers,

So far I have an idea of how i want to plumb and setup a small acrylic refugium above my sump on a shelf as my sump is too small.

I need advice on whether it would work and any tips if you have

Sure it's possible to have refugium above the sump - there's a lot of DIY with pics on that with the RSR 170 and 250 systems (they convert ATO reservoir to fuge).

Be aware that total drain volume to sump will go up on power loss and drains can clog easily with fuge and I don't see a back up drain (not required if planned right, but make sure you plan for drain failure). But technically, no issues moving water back and forth. I would also recommend very low GPH transfer. The drain line is going to get loud if too much flow is put through it.
