Severing chili coral using fishing line

Decided I would tie fishing line around one of my chili coral arms and slowly sever the connection. Does anyone else have experience in doing something similiar?

Just use clean scissors

Thats what I usually do but my brother recently got into reefing and is trying to tell me otherwise. Just needed some support from the community. Haha

I think that as you do it, the coral will regrow around it. Scissors are the way to go.
