Finally making some progress on my seahorse build. I am hoping to get some horse in July. I'm building a 60 gal cube w/20 gal sump. I plan on have 4-6 erectus. What is a good sex ration? 1 to 1 male/female...more males vs female ect?

In a 60 gal tank you are maxed out at 2 pairs.
They are very social animals and generally stick to one partner for life. I suggest buying a known bonded pair (or 2 pairs). If not then try your luck with 2 males and 2 females.
Although they are hard to set apart so buy from very well reputed source.
Captive breds do much better than wild caught.

Thank you, I will be getting captive bred pairs

I purchased a pair from this company years back. They are very hardy and breeding now. Don’t overstock your tank, as they are messy. Make sure to run a chiller for long term success also.

Oh and I would agree, stick to 2 pairs.

I have bought my seahorses from Ocean Rider in Hawaii and Seahorse Source in FL. I still have one of my original seahorses from Ocean Rider that I purchased 5 years ago. She's a grand old lady who still loves to eat and play in the flow.

Dan Underwood of Seahorse Source gives the very best customer service and actually called and gave me help with my first pair of ponies that I bought from a competitor. That's a man who cares about the well being of the animals!
