Sexy Corals maybe again

I received my shipment yesterday (Zoa Pack and three chalices) and I wanted to take a moment to say how displeased I was.

I got at least one/two babies(there were complaints by others as well), leaking bags, soaked box, 60 degree water and one of the smallest chalice shards I've ever received(out of the 32 I own). I'm still waiting for a few to open up so I can try to tell what I actually have. One of the chalices looks terrible and doesn't even resemble the original a little bit.

The response back from SC was "sorry but we try our best" and included their standard DOA policy of pictures within 2 hours. I wasn't complaining about DOA. They also responded with that all chalice frags are 1/2"-3/4" and one eye so I pulled out my trusty tape measure and sure enough it's barely 1/4" by maybe 1/16th".

Sorry but packaging the way they do with $600 in corals is terrible. One thing I didn't ding them on but really also dislike are their frag disks. They are really thin and light and blow around with any type of current.

Thanks for sharing, that sucks man.. I hope you get done right in the end.

So I offered to send pictures of the chalice next to the tape measure after their statement on size and here is their response:

"bryan seems like there is no pleasing you.. sorry we did not meet your demand"

I'm actually quite easy to please and have purchased some frags from some other great people on r2r. I have pictures to back everything I'm saying to them up. I just don't understand why they would treat a customer that spent $600 with a statement like that, poor class. I never asked for anything from them. Maybe a little more honest sorry and we will make it up on the next order can go a long way.

What a shame! What a shame! Thanks for sharing your experience.

wow.....thats why im afraid to even spend that kind of money on any kind of coral! ill stick with the lfs, they get some good stuff in and i can actually pick it out. good luck and hope you can get this resolved.

also show a pic of some of the pieces you recieved....for the size.

We are pretty blessed here in Michigan with places like Tropicorium, Paradise Corals and Cherry Corals...Great vendors so close by we can visit with a simple call or drive...

You're not the only one this has happened to. They will need to step up their game if they hope to thrive.

Ok,

I truly think Mike is trying to make this right. We have PM'ed quite a bit tonight. Mike has also explained that English is not his primary language and he thinks at times it comes off wrong. He's apologized and promised to make me a happy customer.

I'll update if it comes true.

Been trying all day .... thats all i can do is try my best.. I hope this customer can be pleased.

Thats cool that he is trying to make it right.........Now. But better late than never right. Good luck and thanks for sharing your experience, Ive been watching his stuff like a hawk lately and was getting ready to make a purchase but after the last few post that i have seen about sexy corals I think I will hold off. Im also a business owner and there is just no excuse for treating paying costumers in this way. Now I am only basing that statement off of the last few post I have seen referring to this vendor. If I am out of line feel free to remove this post. Good luck agent

ricky,

After going back and reading a few other post. It sounds that Sexy corals does also have some fans, so I would like to apoligize for my earlier post. Except for the part about the proper treatment of customers. My hopes are that with experience that will change, and that sexy corals will learn from this and have success. You hav'nt lost me yet SC. Good luck to everyone involved.

Ricky

I honestly hate to ship anything as I am not agreeing nor disagreeing with this post and packing quality but fedx and ups and usps do not handle all boxes with extreme care. I had a couple box's shipped with 2 ballast and 3 reflectors and other things, man that box was beat to a pulp. only a edge was damaged on a reflector i did not go after the seller plus he is a good friend and I got a great deal but. I guess my point is people do make mistakes only the vendor can make it right from this point forward. I would doubt everyones boxes are shipped like this if this is the case being Ics cold water I would guess a heat pack could of been used, or this company would not or will not be in business for long. I find it intresting personally as I hate shipping and will not ship I am lazy when it comes to going to the post office of any sort. I hate mailing bills off also. too much work lol I personally think they will correct things. as for the babies I dunno about that one I wasn't the buyer and wasn't there for the transaction. to assume but rules customer is always right lol.

I have ordered from this company twice. Good results so far. I did not temp the last order but the first came in at 72 degrees. I live in Alaska and it was about 20 out that day. Heat pack still warm etc.. But I never get corals put on a truck. I go pick them up. Hopefully everything works out for you. I have had good luck so far dealing with Mike. I am sure he will try hard to make it right.

in most cases I always request a picture of what I am recieving. Once I have ordered a few times then I trust the people who I order from. If you see the pics then you will not be surprised.

wow how did this turned around?...i have won a couple auctions recently and was ready to pay, but now im wondering. gonna have to request a pictures for sure

I would not recommend them. My order too was poorly packaged, leaking and cold, and I was not happy with the size of the zoa polyps. Some were very tiny, baby polyps, and quickly died. I just took it as a loss and will not be ordering from them again.

Similar Experience Here

My frags were not DOA however half the frag already died off upon arrival. Some water had leaked out but it wasn't a lot. I reached out to them within the hour with pictures about the issues and told them I was a bit disappointed. He also claimed that all his frags are AT LEAST 3/4" - 1" but mine were cut at the length of 1/4" in size. I did ask for frag pics several times prior to shipping but never received any. Temperatures were at 61.9 upon arrival and was packed with a small 2" x 3" heat pack. They did respond stating temperatures that low should not be an issue. I disagree. As of now, they are somewhat still alive and if they don't make it I'll just chaulk this up as a loss. On a positive, they stated they will replace it if it dies which was notable. I will not pursue that route but would've preferred a better first time experience with them. From my experience purchasing corals from other vendors and sellers here, I will not to buy from them again.

My exact experience. Although the only offer to replace was within the 1 hour window (which is the standard). This recurring theme is quite frustrating.
