Sfin's Dream.

Found it! I'm like a dog with a bone.....
Solid idea.

My understanding it's aluminum
It’s just your typical window screen frame you buy from Home Depot etc.. it’s simple to make and safe over your tank it’s powder coated and aluminum it’s self won’t leach anything unless it’s sitting in the water.

@Troylee welcome to the dream pull up a seat. We are talking screen covers. Feel free to post thoughts.
Correct.. the kits they sell at brs or any fish related top is window screen frame just like you have on your house.. I make polycarbonate ones myself for me or my buddies like kraken etc.. easy to do with the right tools but window screen frames and plastic mesh from Amazon is about $20 and done! lol

Cheap and easy.

I'm in the process of doing a DIY lid that looks like a kracken lid. Its for a aqueon 40 breeder, I have the carbide create free software and my friend from work has the CNC router to cut it out. Will have the channel for the screen spline and feeder opening. I know everyone does not have access to equipment like this, but its going to run me $40 for basically a Kracken lid for the 40 breeder. This is basically what kracken has or less due to wholesale supplies, in their lids that they sell for $250 and up.

Thank you and welcome to the dream. Wish I had access to that equipment. When it's done can you post pics here. Would love to see it.

sure will, give me a second and I will post a pic of my draft, before finale cut is mad

I was thinking if you're juyst looking for plastic to make a frame and glue to, this stuff is ridgid enough:
and its PVC

I'll most likely go with the aluminum and screen
I just looked at that stuff I posted in person and it was a little bendy imo
