Loki says hi
Careful feeding too much, my tank is lacking any real mechanical filtration, but that said the chaeto sorta takes that role. Mine was full of reef roids that didn't get eaten. I could tell something was off before my WC. You'll want to pay attention to your socks if you're running them, or check where the detritus settles in the sump.Last Saturday I picked up benepets reef food and today I picked up reef roids.
Benepets reef says dose three time a week for the first two weeks. So I dosed Saturday , Monday and Thursday. I got ok feeding results.
Reef roids. I picked up today. I dosed 2/3 of the recommend dosage. The feeding response was incredible. Kenya tree, leathers, shrooms, zoa, blastos, gsp, and polys all showed feeding responses. The difference was night and day.
With that said I'm going to feed twice a week once with benepets and the other with roids.
Just my experience.
thanksHandsome!
This is in my tank. When heather weighs in I get it. Means she is taking an interest in the tank.I, for one, sure hope you get it.![]()
Thanks. Any suggestions on figuring out the right amount. I really dont want to over due it.Careful feeding too much, my tank is lacking any real mechanical filtration, but that said the chaeto sorta takes that role. Other than that I have been pleased with the reef roids. ME coral food is good as well, but I only had a one shot sampler. Nice feeding response tho. It isnt ground into as fine a powder as the reef roids is tho, whether that is beneficial or not I'm not sure.
It's all kind of a WAG... depends on your flow and corals and if you're just broadcasting or targeting. I only target my LPS, and I've switched to using pellets for that. I have a few various samples and I'll be looking for something more permanent in the future. For reef roids, I had been feeding 1/8tsp with my LRS twice a week, but I've backed way off after seeing how much was in the sump. It just wasn't getting completely consumed using the broadcast method and the 10 minute feed mode on my return pump. I may do the thick milkshake in a syringe method again and target the LPS. I'll have to figure the ratio of roids to water again. Too thin and it just floats away, too thick and you can't squirt it out. My SPS has been doing fine without any targeting.Thanks. Any suggestions on figuring out the right amount. I really dont want to over due it.
