Dang! Sorry to hear that, man! Glad you have some help to take care of your livestock.

What do you think caused it? Just old wear and tear?

Only way to be
Hopefully a smile can brighten your day.

Sorry to hear about the tank :( Hopefully things will work out for you guys! Great to see all the support you have gotten so far, I can't do so much myself but if there is anything at all. Let me know!

Thanks kids smiles are so contagious. He's adorable.

Bucket of rocks do they need water change or ghost feedings?
Both... you want to keep the parameters the same as you would in tour reef IMO

I do not and its

Just rock
My suggestion would be ammonia dosing.

Austins Clear Ammonia at TSC is best and easy to get. Just add a little everyday and it will keep the rock nice and alive. Plus you do not have to worry about phosphates, like you would ghost feeding with flakes/frozen/pellets.

Just need to keep an eye on nitrates.

How many gallons of water do you think you have with the rock? You tell me that and I can tell you how much to dose a day to maintain .25, as that is all that is needed to keep the bac population happy.

Between 15-20 gal. About 90lbs of rock.

0.4 mL per day.

Or if you have a good dropper, 8 drops is about 0.4 mL

An old test syringe, rinsed out, will work perfect also. This amount gives you .25 for 20 gallons, so if 15, it goes to about .35 for ammonia level, still not too high for any critters in the rock.
