My fish isn't eating and i noticed it has a spot on it's lip.Mollie swam right across it and no interest.Anyone that has ever had a frog fish knows that doesn't happen. What should i do?The one on the left is oct 12th and on the right today oct 30th.

How long have you had the frog fish? It looks to be in rough shape in both photos - but so are the quality of your photos. Are fins completely missing up top and in other areas of the body?

Are you able to take a few photos after cleaning the glass and in a better position?

With fish that look so strange to begin with it really is quite hard to know. What appears to be a hole in the top of the spine looks problematic. Are they both males and both kept in the same tank? If so then maybe it is aggression from the other fish.

Have you been able to get him to eat any frozen over the past two weeks?

Iv'e never tried frozen yet. When they see each other it looks like they get along. One day one was on top of the other and it just swam away.

Is it breathing normally?
Is the water testing out good?

When I see a growth like that on the lower jaw of a frogfish or a scorpionfish, I usually attribute that to a rub mark from shipping, or bumping into something in the tank.

water is perfect and no heavy breathing.Fedex lost my fish and it took 36 hours to get home.I didn't think he or she would make it.I had to turn off my wavemaker because it was getting bounced all over it was so weak. After three days i saw it come out but it's been hiding mostly since i got it.Today was the first day in a long time that it moved around. Now i don't know why it won't eat.

I doubt these guys are going to make, for frogfish to survive you have a very small window, once behind the eight ball, it's too late. While stress can play a role in coloration and pattern, these do not look like shaggy frogfish to me. The head shape does not look like a shaggy and they should have striations as well as filaments across the body. I don't think there is a way to visually sex them and the males would have an esca, it was likely eaten off by an aggressive fish; or rough handling and being in poor conditions with a poor diet. There is really nothing for you to do other than providing pristine water conditions and live mollies and ghosties. If there is a case of internal parasites, in their rough condition they likely wouldn't make it through treatment. There is no treatment to rescue these fish from rough handling and poor conditions other than putting them in good conditions and hoping for the best.

It does seem then, to be a bump injury. Possibly other shopping damage as well. No real treatment for that - they either get better on their own or not, nothing you can do except keep it calm and continue to try and feed it every day.

Looks like an Antennatus species, which have very small lures. Wish I could give some help, but others have hit the nail on the head. Frogs are hard to help after they start going downhill.

Thanks for the advice
