Does anyone have a shallow reef build? Do you like it, I am thinking of doing a 90 gallon rimless shallow reef, just looking for pointers and opinions. Thanks!

I have an 90 gallon shallow reef/lagoon, 16X36x36. I love it, there is a lot of water loss and the alk fluxes a lot. Other than that, I am very satisfied!

Yes an ATO is a must, I wonder why the alk fluxes a lot? Where did you get a stand for It?

I had it custom made by a local shop, I refuse to get an ato, I prefer manual topping off (my house is 115 years old and we have wood floors) It would destroy them if it didn't work properly.

I'm in the same boat, love my 36x36x16. I'm a big fan of wide and shallow tanks. Not sure if you're looking at a square, but flow management and lighting is difficult/expensive on such tanks. Evap hasn't been an issue, 1.5 gal/day. I wouldn't mind if it evap'ed even more so I could feed it more kalk.

So I was thinking for lighting either 3 AI hydra 52 or the radion G4 pros. Flow was thinking maxspect gyre or mp40s
