Hi everyone, I would like to share my zeovit reef from Brisbane Australia.

Running since: 30/03/2013

Tank size - 5ft long 2.5ft wide 2ft high Pennisular style viewable from 3 sides. Total system volume including sump of approx 700 litres (185 US Gallons)

Sump - 1000x650x500 racetrack style, bare apart from filter sock, skimmer, Zeo reactor.


Lighting - ATI Powermodule 6x80w


Flow - 4x Ecotech Vortech MP40WES


Return Pump - Waveline DC-10000 Gen2


Skimmer - KZ Revolution Medium


Evaporation Top Up - Gravity fed ATO for now


Calcium Addition - Randy's recipe #1


Alkilinity Addition - Randy's recipe #1

Fish Stock -
1x Yellow Tang
1x Mimic Tang
1x Blue Spot Rabbitfish
1x Mystery Wrasse
1x Melanurus Wrasse
1x Orange Back Wrasse
2x Pink Barred Zebra Goby
1x Mated pair Green Mandarin Fish
1x Moorish Idol
1x Lawnmower Blenny
1x Cleaner wrasse

This is my first time running the full zeovit system. I've used a few zeovit additives with vodka dosing for years but the full system has been a big step up though

that last photo of the fish. that should be on the cover of a magazine. thats amazing. But anyways awesome frigginnnn tank bro. ziovit system must of cost allot to run?

also where all those grown from frags? any wild pieces? or any aqua cultured pieces? or straight wild? i do remember seeing when i joined a Australian site they aqua culture allot of things.

The lights I haven't sorted out properly yet. I'm getting a new ATI powermodule with 8 tubes instead of 6 soon and will mount it properly then.
Until then it is just sitting on blocks of timber that are sitting on the tank.

Here are pics of the sump. Please excuse the mess, I still have a bit or organisation to complete under the stand which will happen soon.

I'm very happy with that picture, I have a hard time getting decent pictures I'm happy with.

I really have sat down and worked out the ongoing cost of running the zeovit system. It isn't cheap though but most of the additives last a while.

I'd say around 80% of my coral has been grown from small frags, the other 20% are wild collected. I get much more satisfaction growing coral out from frags

What mode do you usually run your vortechs in?

All on 100% speed on reef crest mode. Pumps in the opposite corners are synced together to create changing circular flow around the tank that works really well
