IMO, the only cube that allows for any type of decent rockscape is the 93 cube, other than that, rectangle all the way.

I really can't think of any pros vs cons with respect to one shape vs the other. Really just personal preference I think.

Cube if you're limited on space. Otherwise, I'd go rectangle.

I like cubes but you really can't keep a tang in a cube tank (well, you could, but that would be a bit mean to the fish). Establishing flow is a bit easier in a cube and you likely won't need as much lighting for a comparable volume tank. In a cube, your rockwork options are a bit limited whereas with a rectangular tank you can get a bit more creative. But it really boils down to what you like best as Chris said.

If you plan on going over 50 gallons I wouldn't even consider a cube.
It looks so much more appealing watching fish swim the length of the tank. I went from a 50 gallon cube to a 120 gallon 48' long and love it

Sometimes the depth of my tank frustrates detailed viewing, and a rectangle would seem to facilitate closer viewing.

It really will depend on the exact size. I don't have HUGE area, but it may allow me to put a non-cube tank in the space I have. I do like the idea of having a larger swim lane and a bigger palate for landscape.
