Wanted to start a thread for people to share anything interesting they are doing with their apex. I just setup my first one and am finding an array of things I didn’t think possible! Share whatever cool things your doing with your programming to make your tank a safer more efficient environment!! Enjoy!!

I was amazed at how intuitive it was to program. I was intimidated at first but the built in tasks were great. Especially setting up maintenance functions that will shut down returns and skimmer. I’m sure there are simple things to do for added safety.

Hmm lets see.......

I have my cabinet lights turn on when I open the doors, skimmate collector shuts off the skimmer and send me alert when full, ATO container sends me an alert when it's empty and shuts off the ATO. I dose kalk so when my PH gets too high it shuts down the kalk.

My maintenance mode(feedb) shuts off my return pump, skimmer, reactor, doser, and my higher up PH's. It also turns on the pump in my sump to pump out 10G of water for a WC.

I'm sure there are many more I can't think of right now.

Too many to list, but I did implement a custom Trident schedule (there's a thread someone started detailing this on R2R).
I use one too. I test alk twice a day, ca/mg once. Uses half the reagent. No problems in over a year and a half.

That’s awesome! How did you add the lights to your cabinet to the apex?

Breakout box great for door lighting, and other mini accessories like moonlights and more

I personally wouldn't own an apex without a BOB, or a couple of them .:D
This is why I think the new JR is such a mistep. They could be marketing this to Nano tanks, but it has NO outlets, NO ethernet (only wireless), and NO BOB connector. It can't control anything, all it can do is monitor water level using 2 optical sensors I guess, Monitor PH, and Monitor Temp, but it has no way to control any of it. If it had a BOB I would have bought one for my 3G at work.

Yup, all of this but my ato refills itself when it's empty. Float valve is about 1" from the bottom. It triggers a couple VO's that flushs my RO and starts up the RODI. every hour it flushes it again. Another float valve to turn it off and as a safe guard, I set up a timer in the Apex to shut off the water valve if it goes over the timer. Never run out of water again.

What all could be used with a breakout box. Anything with an electrical connection? Like a switch?
Flood protection, door switches, float switches, ect...
All programs to see the on/off states of the switches. Apex uses these to do other things.
