We all love to see build threads where there are lots of boxes of shiny new gadgets and amazing technology that bubbles and rectifies and reacts, etc. Huge lighting rigs, incredible sumps, etc.

But the more I read the more I stumble onto people here and there who are keeping coral with a HOB filter and a few T5s, no dosers, even cartridge filters, etc.

I love seeing crazy build threads as much as the next person, but if you've got a pretty simple tank going, let's see it! Tell us about your lack of gear :]

Nem tank I just started:

20 Long from Petco
Aqua clear 50 HOB with an OceanBox designs skimmer box
Cheap Amazon Light
Heat
ATO

think I’m in it for less then $300.

Skimmer, Return pump and a bag of gfo/carbon... T5 4 bulb from ATI.. Razor LEDs are just for looks but not needed.

A old pic will get a new one tonight.
Wow. That’s a great pic already

Here's my 20g long with only a HOB skimmer. I'm running kalkwasser and supplementing with 2-part as needed.

I've always been a sucker for little hob setups since they're incredibly easy to maintain and diagnose issues.

Admittedly I'm about to add a GHL doser, but if I were consistently home every day I would stick with hand dosing the 2-part.

I have a 12" cube with a Kessil 160 Fluval Aqua Clear filter with a Cobalt Neo Therm heater I keep nems.
